Kate Gosselin to Release Personal New Book
She already wrote two New York Times bestsellers and, soon, Kate Gosselin could have a third on her hands.
The reality star is scheduled to release I Just Want You to Know: Letters to My Kids on Love, Faith and Family on April 13. The personal book will feature prayers, excerpts from her journal and eight individual letters addressed to each one of her children.
"Each day the thought crosses my mind that when they get older, my kids are going to look back and think about how they were raised," Gosselin says in a statement. "I know they will have a lot of questions about things that may not make sense because they were raised so unconventionally. I don’t want them to grow up and wonder; I want them to know without a shadow of a doubt how much I love them and how much every sacrifice made was worth it for them."
In addition to the book, Gosselin is in production on a new television show for TLC. Her previous nonfiction works include Multiple Blessings and Eight Little Faces.

Why on earth would she publish personal letters to her children that are meant to help them understand how they were raised?
Just when I start to think she's not so bad she does something like this and reinforces for me that she will exploit those kids any way she can if it'll bring in a quick buck.

Why on earth would she publish personal letters to her children that are meant to help them understand how they were raised?
Just when I start to think she's not so bad she does something like this and reinforces for me that she will exploit those kids any way she can if it'll bring in a quick buck.
ITA. If you want to write letters to your children for them to read when they're older just do what every other parent does, no need to publish a book so that you can make even MORE money off of your kids!!

Exactly what I was thinking. Guess she'll never learn so long as the mighty dollar is there for her. So sad.

That was my first thought when I read what she said.
Personal letters to her kids, are supposed to be just that, personal.
Why publish it?

lets face it though she has 8 kids to support and wriing that book will make her money and writing the kids letters sounds like a book seller to me

I doubt she wrote letters and approached a publisher to print them. She was probably approached with a book deal, they publisher wanted personal letters included (shes a cash cow and the publishers arent stupid), neither is she.....so she wrote 8 "personal" letters to her kids so that the book sells.
I still like her, and we dont know what goes on behind closed doors, what she says to them, maybe she keeps actual personal journals or letters for them, maybe she actually just tells them.

ITA. I love how she is writing letters to her kids so they know how much she loves them. It's just a ploy for money. Yes, she needs to support 8 kids because Jon sure isn't. But I don't feel comfortable with the idea that we're able to read these private letters by buying this book (even if the letters were written specifically for the book).
