Coincidence or allergy/sensitivity?
I have a call in to our ped, but I just wanted to get opinions from you lovelies!
Over Christmas break, we started James on Oatmeal. On the third day, his face broke out - mostly on his cheeks and temples. I thought it might have been from the cold/drool/jacket rubbing up on his face from being in the carseat. We stopped the oatmeal and the rash cleared up. We waited about 5 days and then started barley - he was fine with it.
Last Thursday, we started him with oatmeal again (our doc wanted us to wait a week or so and then try again with it). He was fine Thu, Fri, Sat, but yesterday, he broke out really badly all over his face and head. The poor baby was up all night scratching his face and head. He's the least fussy baby ever and was up whining and crying out There was nothing that changed at all - no new detergent, same formula, etc.
Do you think he has a little allergy to oatmeal? He broke out the same way when he was on a formula with added rice starch
Is this the beginning of a battle with food allergies?

Re: Coincidence or allergy/sensitivity?
I am dealing with the same thing right now. DD was eating oatmeal and seemed to be fine, but we just changes her formula and the past 2 days she has a little rash on her temple and on her head. So I don't know if it's from the oatmeal or the formula (but the formula is hypoallergenic). What for the Ped GI to call me back. GL

Good luck to you! James is on a hypoallergenic formula as well (Alimentum)
Anyone else?
