Couch & Static

Every time I get off the couch in our den (it's microfiber) and touch anything metal or a person, I get a huge shock, I mean with a spark! It hurts like hell! I took a dryer sheet to the area of the couch I usually sit on and it didn't do anything. What can I do to minimize this shockiness? Sometimes my hair stands up on ends Chat Icon

Re: Couch & Static

It sounds like the room is too dry. Can you run a humidifier in there? Or do you have a house humidiier that you can turn up? Our last apartment was sooo static-y and I HATE static. We ran a few humidifiers and it really helped.

Re: Couch & Static

the same thing keeps happening me us on our microfiber couch and our leather couch. Drives us nuts. I think it's the very cold weather we are having. It never happens in the spring, summer or fall.

No, haven't tried that yet. I'll have to pick some up.
