It deserves it! It is an amazing movie. It is the first time I have ever wanted to see a movie twice. The 3D and Imax only made it greater.

I'm willing to bet a lot of that $$ is from the raised prices of the 3D and IMAX 3D tickets - although that is still crazy!
I did see it and I am sooooo glad I did. What a fantastic movie!!

The last time I saw a movie at the theater was Star Trek last year. I saw Avitar in 3D over the weekend. It was amazing and worth every penny. However, there were scenes cut directly from the movie 10000 BC. I would see Avitar again. I have not felt that way about a movie since the Princess Bride or Goonies. It is one of the best moves I have ever watched.

I agree, it actually has more of a plot. the graphics are an added bonus. DH, stepson and myself loved it.

I saw it (grudgingly) this weekend with friends. I was startled by how much I loved it and will be going back to take my son to see it.

It was REALLY good. We went Saturday and I kind of expected it to suck, but it was a million times better than I could've expected.

It's totally not like that. It's more about a "new" planet's indiginous people. There is very little "sci fi" to it, it's more about right v. wrong, interpersonal relationships and some amazingly cool graphics. Trust me, you will love it. There is a ton of emotion to this movie.

i had some interest in seeing it, but not after the video is saw of james cameron cursing at someone asking for an autograph in the airport!

I was very surprised I liked it as much as I did. I only went to see it b/c my dad wanted to go. I ended up being the only one of us that really enjoyed it and would be interested in seeing it again.
I was rather shocked that there was an actually decent storyline rather than some just really good graphics and people blowing stuff up, which is prob why my dad didnt enjoy it

I thought it was pretty good, not GREAT...it was WAY too long...they should have cut out some scenes or shortened some....towards the end it DRAGGED ON way too long. The graphics and 3D were pretty awesome...the acting was so-so...especially the military guy, it was a little over the top. The visuals of the planet (Pandora) were pretty cool...the very obvious parallels to our lives (war in middle east, religion, destroying the planet etc) was repeated over and over.
