September/October 2009 moms! Check in!!!

Hey ladies!

Thought we could do a check-in thread! Chat Icon

James is just over 3.5 months old and weighing in at 14.9 pounds and is 26.5 inches long.

He still hates being on his tummy, but is getting better at holding his head up when he's on his belly. He's rolling from side to side and now prefers to sleep on his left side, just like mommy. He can hold his head up like a champ while upright - no more bobble-head. We can actually carry him like a real baby now - legs around our waist - he slings an arm over our shoulder and "hangs on"

He's still not quite sleeping through the night - he goes to sleep around 7:30 and will sleep until about 1, take an 8oz bottle, go back to sleep until between 5-6, take another bottle and then sleep until 9. He's so good though - we can put him down in his crib completely awake, give him his pacifier (he only gets it at night and for naps) and turn off the lights and he'll be out within 5 minutes. I'm hoping and PRAYING it stays like this! Chat Icon

We just started him on cereal the other night and he absolutely LOVES it! He will open his mouth wide and dive bomb the spoon to get it into his mouth. Chat Icon Chat Icon

If he's awake, he's babbling and making all kinds of noises - he loves to make the sound of rolling "r"'s (must be the Spanish teacher mom of his getting him started early Chat Icon)

He's just such a happy, smiley, giggly, squealy, cooey little guy - I never EVER thought I could love someone this much. He cracks me up every single day and melts my heart every time he looks into my eyes and lets loose with a "bobdoaeuoeuahyreouwhfoewhuha" and a smile. Chat Icon

Here are 2 pics from his first Christmas

Re: September/October 2009 moms! Check in!!!

My DS is doing about the same. He does tummy time for about 5 min max but he is doing really good holding his head up. He is still not rolling over i think it will be soon he is trying so hard.
He has been sleeping thur the night since about 5-6 weeks. He eats a lot 6 oz every 2 1/2-3 hrs. We went to the doc on sun and he is 13lbs 25in long his head was in the 25 percent which I am hoping is ok, the ped does not seem to be worried.
He loves to smile but once I break out the camera he goes camera shy on me but today I was at bru and they offered me a free 5x7 and he was smiling up a storm for the girl she got some really good shots. Thomas at 15 weeks

Re: September/October 2009 moms! Check in!!!

my little munchkin is sleeping in my arms right now.

he is almost 11 weeks. at 8 weeks he weighed 13.9lbs/25 inches long. I'm guessing he's over 14lbs now.

he is such a good baby. so easy going. goes to sleep without any issues at all (where I had to rock jack for hours upon hours)

all you have to do is say "Hi Tyler" and you get the biggest, brightest smile.

he goes in his crib anywhere from 8:30-9:30 depending on his last bottle and his next wake time varies. Sometimes it's three hours. Sometimes he will go 5-6 hours.

jack is such an amazing big brother and already has Tyler laughing. I'm very very blessed with the two of them!External Image

Re: September/October 2009 moms! Check in!!!

DD will be 3 months old tomorrow. She has her 3 month visit on 1/4/10 so I will find out her stats then. She is great at tummy time and can hold her head up nicely. She is wearing size 6 month sleepers and 3 month top and bottoms. She likes to be read to and adores her older brother. She played cars with him today for the first time. It is really adorable to watch them together. She goes to sleep at 9:30 and wakes up at 2:30. Then she gets up at 7:15. She needs to be held to fall asleep and is a light sleeper.

ETA: Your children are all so adorable.

What beautiful babies!

Lily is 12 weeks (tomorrow!) and we haven't been to the doctor since the 6 week visit when she was 11 lbs 2 oz and 22 1/2 inches. I'm guessing she's at least 15lbs now and has definitely grown as well!

She smiles often and adores her daddy! Her head control is great and is sitting in her bumbo seat more little by little. She's a great sleeper, especially at night and is giving us 9 hours and then a little nap after she eats in the morning. She doesn't cry much, only when she's hungry, tired or needs a diaper change. She's a true doll! I never knew love like this before!

Re: September/October 2009 moms! Check in!!!

I love all the pics. I feel like AnnMarie is such a little peanut looking at everyone else's DC. She is 14 weeks, 23 inchs and weights 11lbs, 8oz. She loves tummy time and just yesterday started "batting" at her car seat toys. Her favorite "toys" are her feet (see pic)She rolled over 4 times so far from her tummy to her back and also loves to roll to her right side to sleep at night. For about a month now she has been STTN from about 9pm - 9am (sometimes she wakes a little earlier) . She is a happy little girl and I am hoping she stays this way since I go back to work in a month!!

Hey mommies! Love all the cute pics!

Ezra is a little over 3.5 months now! He has been teething for the last few weeks and has been VERY cranky the last few days Chat Icon Other than that he has been enjoying his touch and feel books, holding his head up extremely well and trying to turn onto his side. Unfortunately he still hates tummy time! He isn't quite STTN yet. We have been having some issues trying to transition him from his glider to the crib (he doesn't like being flat and the wedge wasn't working well either). He usually goes down at about 9 and sleeps till 1 or 2 (BF) then 5 or 6 (BF) and then gets up around 7 or 7:30..... or somedays he just wakes up every hour Chat Icon Chat Icon He's lucky he's so adorable. Re: September/October 2009 moms! Check in!!!

Sydney and Chloe are almost 13 weeks.

They have grown so much.

They have doubled their birth weight and Syd was 10 lbs at her last visit and Chloe was 9.6 lbs.

Chloe"s finally over her eating issue, and now on the elecare is such a happy patient baby. Sydney is a sleepy girl most of the time but what a temper!

They both Vie for my attention with smiles. I wish I had 10 hands sometimes b.c their smiles just melt my heart and I cannot always tend to them both.

Chloe is my X men mutant and has super human stength. She rolls over already and sits perfectly in the bumbo seat, always had great head control ...Sydneys getting there and they both like tummy time.

Napping is hit or miss and sleeping is too. Theyhave gone 10 hours between feedings once, but then back to 5 hours.

During the day its about 4 hours , and on average 5-6 hours at night...on a good night 8 hours. They are both up to about 6 oz"s now.

SO glad to see all the happy healthy babies!!

V you know what Sophia and I think about James Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Im so jealous that he's loving the cereal! Sophia isnt, so we're going to put it on hold for 2ish more weeks until she's 4 months

OK -- official Sophia update! . . .

She's 15 weeks old, and weighs about 15lbs, and is about 24&3/4" long Chat Icon

She's been sleeping through the night since about 10 or 11 weeks. She usually goes down around 1130pm Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon and wakes at about 830am

She takes five or six 5oz bottles/day so about 25-30oz. Like I meantioned before we tried to start her on oatmeal as/the peds recommendation but she really hates it. It was really runny the first time we tried and she basically just spit it out, and started refusing to open her mouth. The next time I thickened it a little. She opened her mouth better but she started to gag on it. The third time she just cried SOO its on the back burner for now.

As far as development, ive been working with her on tummytime and shes starting to enjoy it!
Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon My sister gave her the boppy tummytime pad thingy and its been helping. She has held her head up well since birth, and has mastered the bumbo. So well that shes learning to arch her way out of it. im giving it another week or two before we have to retire it. she LOVES to be held facing out so she can see everything and everyone, and she LOVES to be sung to. especially the "ABC song". if shes crying or fussy ill sing it and shell stop and smile Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon She rolls from side to side, but not over back to front yet. She's trying, she'll throw one leg over the other but she usually has one arm straight out which prevents her from rolling over.

she coos/babbles/smiles all day long, especially when she sees her daddy! he says "HI DADDA" when he walks in the door and from across the apartment she giggles! i swear i could eat her face.

ok pic time

She's been sick and has a pretty nasty cough right now, but overall she's great. She does do tummy time, and it seem slike she's trying to roll over. She's cooing and smiling all the time, we jsut adore her Chat Icon Here are some recent pics

Re: September/October 2009 moms! Check in!!!

Lola is now 11 weeks (on Friday) and she is the absolute sweetest thing going. Such a happy baby (when she's not gassy Chat Icon ) Always giggling and babbling. We have long conversations lately and it's just too cute.

She has rolled front to back already, but not consistently.

She is EBF so I'm not sure how much she's eating. Usually every 2-3 hours, but she can and has gone for longer.

At night she goes to bed around 9 and she'll wake close to 3 for a feeding, then back down until about 6...she can fall back asleep sometimes, but usually she'll just cat nap and wake. Then she'll go down for her 1st nap about an hour after she wakes up.

The rest of the day I'm just watching her cues and the 1st sign of a yawn I start to wind her down.

She's having the same gas issues that Bella did, so we're working on that...going to see a GI specialist to get some answers. But for the most part...everything is great.

Bella is LOVING her new baby sister. So good with her and keeps telling her to grow so they can play. She's always making sure that she "shares with her baby sister Wowa Wose" Chat Icon Chat Icon I love watching them together.

So glad everyone is doing well!

Re: September/October 2009 moms! Check in!!!

I'm an early Oct mommy (baby came early). Joshua is 12.5 weeks old and was 11 lbs and 22 3/4 inches at his 10 week apptmt. He gulping down 6 oz ever 4 hours and I think he wants more. He's not STTN yet but will sleep from about 9 PM until 3-4 AM (although the last 3 nights he's woken up at 2 AM for no apparent reason). We are able to put him down awake and he falls asleep by himself with no paci.

He's cooing up a storm and we have back and forth conversations. He also squeals with laughter. His natural wake-up time seems to be around 6:30 AM and he's all smiles in the AM. He also "discovered" his hand 3 days ago.

He hates tummy time!!! Not sure what to do about this. And, we didn't alternate his head position when we layed him to sleep so his head has a flat spot, a new source of stress.

Tummy issues are resolved now, virtually no spitting and he pretty much poops on his own. Can't wait to transition him to regular formula, he's on Alimentum, and to start giving him real food in a couple of months. I can't get enough of him!

Awe - these little ones are all so cute! Chat Icon

My little Logan will be 4 months Chat Icon next Tuesday. He was 12 lbs 5oz at his last visit so I'm guessing he'll be about 13 1/2 + at this appt.

He is usually such a sweet happy baby - yesterday we had a fussy day though. He's been sleeping through the night since he was about 1 1/2 months - yea!!! And we just started him in the crib Monday night (he had been in our room in the bassinet.) He's been great so far with the transition but it's weird not having him right there.

Dr. said we'll talk about starting cereal this appt so he's just getting formula now (I finally decided to stop pumping when he showed me he was going to refuse to nurse EVER.Chat Icon ) But though I feel bad, I am enjoying not waking up with engorged boobs every day.

He hates tummy time and isn't rolling yet but he does have really good neck control when we hold him or put him in a sitting position. I keep trying for the tummy time but after about a minute (if that) he starts shreiking

I'll be starting back to work next Wednesday - I'm so sad and will miss being around him so much.Chat Icon

Hope everyone enjoys a wonderful New Year's with all thier little ones!! Here's to a fabulous 2010!!Chat Icon

Joelle wil be 3 months tomorrow Chat Icon
She is the best thing ever. She has been sttn since about 3 to 4 weeks. We moved her into her own room about 2 weeks ago. She is happiest first thing in the morning. Her face lights up when we walk into her room.

She hates tummy time, but is starting to stay for a little longer before her meltdown. She can roll onto her sides, she loves the mirror on the side of the crib.
She loves her bumbo, and sitting up. Her new fav is the Fisher Price Jumperoo.

The best thing ever is that this past week she started laughing! she melts my heart with her little chuckle, that sound just like her daddy.

BFing is going well. The first 10 days were tough but since then, she has been great.

ETA: At her 2 month check up she was 14 lbs 24 inches, apparently I don't just make milk, I make heavy cream. Chat Icon
Guessing now she is at least 16 lbs Chat Icon

OMG I could EAT James! Those rosey red cheeks...love his smile!

Natie is doing great. He's 10.5 wks old. At his 8 wk appt he weighed 14.4 & was 23.75 in.

I head back to work on the 11th & I'm dreading it. The thought of not being around him 24/7 is killing me, but I know it'll be best for him. Thankfully he'll be nearby so I can get my fix!

He's fussy, but when he's happy he's full of smiles. I especially love the full out belly laughs when he's sleeping.

Last night he slept a good stretch of the night from about 9:30 - 5:30. I actually woke up in a panic because I thought something was wrong - Chat Icon

Everyones babies are adorable!

My DS just turned 3 months on the 27th and is doing great. He's a very happy smiley baby.
They only did his weight at the last appointment and he was 13lbs 2oz. He's eating about five 7oz bottles a day.
He's been sleeping from about 10pm till 7am, has a bottle and goes right back to sleep until about 10am. He's not much of a napper during the day but the nights have been great.
I go back to work on the 4th and am sooooo sad. I can't believe how fast 3 months went by.

My dd is 10.5 wks old. A week and a half ago she weighed 11lb1oz-a month ago she was 23.5 inches. Next checkup is monday and I think she is now over 12lbs and much longer...she is very long. She holds her head up great and is started to lift her tush off the ground and to the side when I lay her on her back-I think she will be rolling over soon. Her flat head seems to be gone. She goes to bed around midnight to 12:30 and wakes up at 6:30am-I BF and she sleeps for about another 3 hours-I breastfeed again and then she usually naps again until 11. I wish I could get her to go to bed earlier! Sometimes she falls asleep in my arms and sometimes I lay her down and turn on the mobile and she falls asleep on her own. No pacifier. During the day she takes 4 bottles anywhere between 3.5 to 6 ounces. She is such a good and happy and talkative baby. I don't even want to think about going back to work on 1/11. I am going to miss being with her all day.Chat Icon
