possible TMI cervix question?
Can anyone describe how their cervix felt during pregnancy? I use to check CP all the time while TTC to determine O. I haven't checked it since I got my BFP & for some reason did today in the shower. It felt really soft, kinda more open then I thought (i guess like a dimple), and the surface was a little rough. Is this normal I am 15 weeks Monday. It just made me kinda panic b/c I always thought it would be really hard for some reason. Also we BD this morning before I checked if that makes a difference.

I never attempted this, but have to ask how you do this? Maybe naive, but I feel like my fingers are too short. Am I missing something?

Re: possible TMI cervix question?
Your cervix is supposed to be high and hard - as if you were a few post AF... As for the texture, I don't know what it's supposed to feel like.
I do suggest however, not to poke around up there. No need to disrupt anything. KWIM??
The next time you see your doctor, I would mention what you felt... and s/he might do an internal just to be sure.
Try not to worry about it though... Call your ob on monday just to put you at peace.

I haven't done it since I'm pregnant but I can definitely reach it. Once I thought I lost a tampon and spent a while up there...

Re: possible TMI cervix question?
As long as you're not spotting red or pink blood, I wouldn't worry about your cervix. I'm at 25 weeks and none of my doctor's have done an internal exam, which makes me think that the cervical position isn't all that important. My cervix never acted the way the books said it would with ovulation/pregnancy. Every woman is different.

Re: possible TMI cervix question?
Thank you. I know I shouldn't be poking around, and defin won't be doing that again. I haven't had any spotting or bleeding at all. I guess it is just an irrational fear leftover from the 1st tri. I spent those 13 weeks worried about a random m/c, and now that I am 15 weeks I am worried about other things like incompetent cervix. I just need to realx. I will bring it up to my OB though.
