tipping

OK, so...

we live in the city in an apartment complex with:

1 super
1 handyman
4 doormen
5 porters
3 service entrance personnel
4 package escorts

(according to the holiday card they sent us with everyones names.. presumably so we know who to tip)

we moved in Sept 1st - a little over 3 months ago. how much do we tip? do we tip eeeveryone? Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

also, who else do you usually tip/get gifts for? i'm thinking just my secretary at work? who am i forgetting? (we dont really have your traditional mailman, garbage man, whoever else you usually tip...)

I sent you FM with specifics on apt tipping but yes, we generally tipped everyone including the mail carrier. It adds up Chat Icon

Would you mine sending it to me too!! Thank You!!

We live in the city too. I know last yr since it the economy was down so much...we gave less than usual.

The 3 main doormen we gave $60
The night, late shift & handyman we gave $40, the SUper we gave $60. I know the yr before we gave considerably more...but that was b.c we got married and they did a lot of extra work for us that yr.

I never tipped the mail carrier...but I guess i should.

The problem is we have a Monthly Garage and they all receive tips too. It all honestly becomes too much.

If I were you I would just give like $10. I really do not think it is even necessary since you just moved in.
