Super long Review of Atlantis and Lots of pics
Let me start of by saying this was an wonderful vacation. DH, DS and I absolutely loved it. DS loved all the fish tanks, pool and beach.
We took jet blue down. Flight time was about 2:30 hrs long. $7 blanket and pillow. $6 movie . $2 head phones. Free drink and snack.
Once there the shuttle from airport: 30 min.
When we arrived I asked to upgrade to the Royal Tower from the Coral Tower. It was an additional $75 a night. I asked nicely if any discounts were available and eventhough the lady said no she ended up giving us the upgrade for free. Yipee!
Upgrading was a good thing because
there was lot of renovating on that other end. The lazy river, kids pools, waters edge and chop stix restaurants were closed for renovation.
We are lunch at the Atlas bar and grill. Service started out slow but ended up ok. Food wasnt that bad. We just had burgers.
Dinner: Bimini bar. 1 hr wait to be seated. After 30 min finally ordered. Waited another 10 min fir drinks. Asked 3 times for a high vague 45 min later it came. 1 hr after sitting down appetizer and Bens food came. Another 20 min for diner. Unacceptable!
Dinner at Marketplace buffet not bad but not worth $55 pp. Wonderful for breakfast every day.
Photo Cd cheapest package of $149. Included all pics on a cd, 1 8x10, 2 6x8, 2 5x7 and a picture frame. The cd fits up to 100 photos so make sure to find the photographers and fill up your cd. It works like the Disney photo, u get a card and have them scan it every time u take pics, or they will scan your wrist band. Pools, bug chair, sea bulls, pools, slides, marina, dolphins in beach towers, sunrise/sunset, outside of royal towers, the dig, ect. I made friends with a couple of the photographers and everywhere I saw them they would take our pics. One if the even met us in the last day to try and finish filling the cd. Worth $20 tip.
We caught 2 movies while we were there, Up and monsters bs aliens at 5pm, later on there were 2 other shows more grown up movies.
The Mantara spa was unreal! I got a 50 minute swidish massage and left walking on clouds. Wondrerful 1st massage experince. While u are there u can enjoy the facilities. Sauna, steam room, jaquzzi, showers, ect. The only thing I regret was not going earlier in the week and making sure I snuck another one in. :0)
Wi-fi $14.95 a day or u could use the free 15 min a day at the library.
Nobu:amazing! Part of the "love package" we got free 2 shots of sake and 6 pieces of sushi (2 new salmon, 2 spicy tuna and 2 shrimp tempura) total value of $43. It was delicious! We ordered another shrimp tempura roll and that came out to $16. Not sure how much Nobu is in the city, but it was worth it. Nobu was not part of our meal plan but it would have been worth paying for dinner, but children under 6 were only allowed b/w 5:30 and 6:00pm.
We also did the Atlantis Pals, a build-a-bear type store. It was cute but the skin was $30 and a t-shirt $5. Entire outfits were $15.
Another piece of advice bring your own pool/beach toys. We bought a ball for $10 and a sand pail, shovel, and a couple other toys for $7.
Good thing we had our own float for Ben. Oh, and if we wanted a disposable waterproof camera that would have cost us $27. And we wouldnt have been allowed to use it at the dolphin experience.
Thanks for looking and enjoy the pics.
