Staining Wood w/ Pic
Has anyone ever stained wood cabinetry before?
I think I'd like to stain our bathroom cabinet to a dark color....
So far in the room we have installed an orb faucet, we spray painted our light fixture orb, we got an orb shower curtain rod.....we still have to get a orb towel rack and toilet paper holder to match as well as accessories and towels....
I'm not really sure what color to paint the walls - rigt now our tiles are like a tan/beige and our shower curtain has a tropical/vacation theme that we'd like to go with....
But most of all, I'd like to stain the cabinet....like a really dark rich color...I feel like until that is done I can't really finish the room...
Has anyone ever done this? Do you need special stain for a bathroom? Is there more to it than just sanding and staining?

all i know is you have to sand off all of the stain (shininess) that's on there really good, then i believe you can stain.
ask your local home depot or lowes. they'll have the answer you need.
good luck!
love the dark color, what is "orb?"

you would need to sand the entire piece, all of the finsh must come off before you can stain it. but before you do that you have to make sure its wood. a lot of times those cabinets have laminate sides but real wood doors. if that is the case you would not be able to stain it.
if it is solid wood, its really not that hard except in any small creveses where a sander won't get into. you would have to do that by hand sanding.
