*Spinoff - North Bellmore Schools

Hello,
We recently bought a house in North Bellmore and we love it here. I am originally from Massapequa SD and so is my husband. Can anyone share some insight (teachers, parents, and former students) about Newbridge Road Elementary, Grand Avenue MS, and Mepham HS)!

Not to hijack, but I'm in N. Bellmore too, so if anyone has anything to add about Martin Ave. Elementary School, that would be great!

My son and all of my friends' kids go to Grand Ave MS. I have nothing but great things to say about the school. Aside from the great teachers, they also have fantastic programs and clubs for the students. All the classrooms have state of the art teaching tools, computers and equipment. The kids love it. Alas, it is his last year there before moving on to Kennedy .

Don't know about the elem schools but I used to work in the Central HS District and they are great schools. Mepham is definitely the more diverse hs than Calhoun or Kennedy. The one thing that kind of stinks for the kids is that everyone splits to the different high schools. What I mean is Grand Ave serves all of Bellmore students - north and south - but for hs - the north kids go to Mepham and the south kids go to Kennedy - there's def an adjustment period for some of the kids if their friends have gone to the other hs. All great schools though!

i went to mepham and it is definitely a great school. i moved in high school so it was a little hard to get into a clique. but the teachers were great.

i didn't go to any of those schools but my friend works at Mepham and he loves it there from what i have heard from friends it's a fantastic school district!

I went to Mepham and loved it! The teachers were great and everyone was involved at school functions. I don't know about the others schools because I had just moved to Bellmore for High School but DH and all of my friends went to Grand and loved it and even though it seperated a lot of people most of them still kept in touch.

I went to Mepham and no complaints- I got a very good education in the N bellmore schools. I spent most of my childhood and adult life in N Bellmore. I went to Dinkelmeyer for K-6. Any questions, ask away.
