Need new patio doors...what to get?

We have a set of very crummy (Crestline) sliders in our dining room leading to our deck. We always said we would replace them someday...

Do to a freak accident one of the door panels shattered and we need a new door. The quotes I have gotten to replace the broken glass in the door are INSANE (approx $500) - a Crestline door is the cheapest possible door you can buy from HD (was installed by previous homeowner) and leaks a ton of air in the winter.

We would like interior blinds in the door b/c they face West and in the evening it is almost impossible to sit and eat dinner at the table (my sheers do not cut the light)...

Any door recommendations? Pella and Andersen are the best I have heard...what else is good...

We are going to Nassau Door & Window tomorrow - does anyone know if they are overpriced or average?

We have been told there is a 4-5 wk lead time on ANYTHING we order which is crazy - we are going to have to rig up some type of temporary solution for the GIANT gaping hole in our door!

Any wisdom is greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

We got a Marvin door (the original - not the new economy Marvin) and I Chat Icon this door. It is Chat Icon but so worth the money. No drafts, solid, three point lock and closes perfectly. We would totally buy this again.

Maybe you could visit Habitat for Humanity store? They usually have a lot of doors of all types and if you find one you can use, it will be cheap. Even if you still want to order something, you can at least have a replacement for the hole in your wall.
