kissing newborns

What are your thoughts on this? I have a no kissing rule for my 5 week old but my husband thinks I am over reacting. Do you let people kiss your newborn

As long as no one is sick....kiss away, you can never have too many kisses!

Re: kissing newborns

I have a no kiss rule at all times except on the head... and it is not just for newborns... i hate being so strick but i have no choice because my father is a heavy smoker and he would never listen if i just made the rule apply to him so because he is 2 year old trapped in a 63 year old body i have no choice but to make the rule apply to everyone...

Re: kissing newborns

No way! The only people who where aloud to kiss him where DH and I and his grandparents. I didn't even like people touching his hands.

Re: kissing newborns

Kids only on the back of their heads, and adults if they are close family-no lips. (and of course if they weren't sick). Most adults kids DS's head anyway.

Re: kissing newborns

I wouldn't kiss someone elses newborn on the lips, and if someone did it to mine I would be a bit annoyed, but I don't know anyone who would. Kisses on the cheeks, hands, nose etc are fine by me. Again, you can never have too many kisses or hugs in my book!
