How much to have...

carpets pulled up and hardwood floors polished up? We need to have 3 bedrooms, a hall, living room and dining room done to have the hardwood floors exposed. Anyone have a guesstimate?

if you rip the carpet out yourself it will be alot cheaper - its really easy to do.

as far as cost to refinish the wood floors i'm sure it all depends on what you want.. refinished, stained, how many coats of poly....

Dh and I just ripped out all of our carpets for the floor guys. It saved us a ton of money in the long run but was a bit of a pain. Remember that you have to remove all the staples too - there is a small hand tool designed for this purpose and we ripped them out in no time after we got it. Before that, we were struggling with pliers and a hammer.... it was horrible.

Floor companies charge by the square foot. How much sq. footage do you have?

Getting it done next week.. Two bedrooms, Each room is 11x14 thats with the closets being done as well.they are ripping up the carpet, 3 coats of polyurethane. Total 400 dollars cash.
