Speaking of Cesspools
Is this the same as a Septic Systems? I never heard os Cesspools until I moved here...

From what I understand a Septic System seperates the liquids from the solids. With a cesspool everything goes into 1 tank.

Correct.
A septic system has a solids holding tank, usually concrete. The solids go there and the liquid is piped off into a leach field. Septic systems aren't really found in a lot of residential dwellings because they require a lot of land. But they can be. The solids portion would need to be pumped every so often.
A cesspool system is a series of pools, usually 2 in series (second one would act as an overflow). The solids settle to the bottom (which is earthen in most cases) and it breaks down over time. The liquid seeps out through the slotted sides. A correctly working cesspool should never have to be pumped. When they do need to be pumped, its usually because the waste is not breaking down fast enough.
