Those that received or still receiving NYS disability benefits when out on leave after birth of child PLEASE come in...
I didn't meet STD or FMLA at my job so I will be using all my available vacation time and then going on a 90 day personal leave from the company.
I am working with an HR person and Aetna claim manager to get the NY state statutory disability payment while I am out at work. Well, I'm waiting for a return call from them.
Never went this route, what do I expect what kind of paperwork do I have to get done either by myself or doctor?
Anyone in my situation that got the NYS disabitliy? How snmooth was the process?

My HR dept handled most of it. I just had to have my OB fill out a paper and send back to them. I had no issues.
The first week is liek a holding week, then you start getting checks( Mine was direct deposited)

Same for me, only difference was I received checks in the mail.
