And finally we are in contract (edit)
Well we signed the binder on June 21st so this has taken way longer then expected. Signed contract on Friday 7/10 said we should close by Sept 1st if all goes well.
Hehehe so happy - 
First thing to do after closing is the entire exterior to be ripped off and sided, gutters, trim, new front door and possibly new back door/screens, fascia/sofits (sp), new insulation in the attic, attic fan, taking down wood paneling in the dining room & living room, painting and if we have money left over the floors and carpet. Meanwhile we have to do gardening and yard cleanup and trying to take some trees down.
We decided to upgrade the electric around xmass when we save up for it and it will be the only gift we give each other (even if its expensive) but by then we will know what we really need done in the house (plugs) by then.
Uh so much work but so happy to say us poor people will have a real home.

Lindenhurst. To most people the house is a disaster but at least for the price I can change it eventually to our style. I will post pics when we go again - i have photographs but these were taken by my husband so I will have nicer ones soon.

Our master bedroom now this was two rooms made into one so its fairly large, with a full wall of closets which we are going to open up a bit more.
Full length of the house basement *huge, a converted garage into a loft style apartment with full bathroom (no pics) which we are opening up from the dining room to make into a parlor/bar/music area and then down the road possibly our new master. Another bedroom with a full bathroom in the front of the house.

ETA- we just put an offer in on a house that most people would think is a disaster too! lol but it has such great potential and hopefully we get it for a great price, so in the end its so worth it!!

Congrats! That is great. WOW that is a lot of work to do. GL and get lots of quotes before deciding on a contractor. The house has good bones to it from what I can see. That is great. Welcome to Lindenhurst, neighbor!  And having the worst house on the block isn't a bad thing, because when it's done, everyone is so happy, not just you. (I should know)

Thanks!!! We are doing most of the work except for electrical and the exterior siding stuff we think we are hiring King Quality so far.
It will be one room a year with the work.
