At Punta cana airport....
There are taxi's there to the local resorts right ?
The past 3 times we went there we pre-arranged our transportation and this time we booked through our vacation club and didn't

i think you should call the resort and ask if you can arrange the transport with them.
most of the resort transports are set up thru the TAs and tour operators and have set names and schedules of who they are picking up. you *might* get lucky and get on one of them for a few bucks -- but i don't know if i would trust just any regular taxi to take me to the resort in that area.

You might be right....I just have such a hard time because of the language barrier ( I remember when I was calling to reserve the crib) , so I was hoping to avoid the call but maybe I should ...Thanks

I agree with Melissa - go through your resort. I remember when we were there for our HM a couple had their bags stolen from their driver, including their passports, so you just never know who you're getting in the cab with.

Def book ahead.
The ride to Punta Cana from the airport is a solid hour on terrible roads. You don't want to be in a shady cab for this trip.
We used Coco tours and had a private minivan with a friendly driver.www.cocotours.com

I definitely agree, the ride to the resort was terrible, so you should definitely firm this up in advance!

I took all of your advice and investigated transportation with the resort ! TG we did, I was about to pay $41 pp and our vacation club is providing it for $14pp round trip  ...Didnt know they offered it !

We took a taxi to our resort, no problem. There is one reputable taxi firm with a desk right by the exit. Cheap, and faster than waiting for package-included transfers...
