Has anyone experienced "bladder irritation" during pregnancy?

So since a few weeks after getting my BFP I have been having some bladder discomfort. It is hard to explain other than it feels like an irritated sensation almost like i have to pee really bad - but, i can tell the difference - its hard to explain other than this.

I did have a uti about a month ago (strangely at this time I did not have these symptoms) which was treated and re-checked and it was gone (based on the culture) even though I am still experiencing this irritated sensation off and on (some days not at all some days bad). By OB just did another culture on friday but thinks it will be negative since the dip stick was and it was last time too.

My OB (after examining me twice) says my bladder is irritated and that is what is causing the symptoms and if it is not an infection basically there is nothing they can do about this during pregnancy. Anyone ever experience this? It concerns me b/c I am worried to be having this discomfort without a solution and i feel concerned if itcould be hurting the baby.
TIA!

ETA: I am only about 9 wks so it is not pressure from the baby.

yes, i had this. it's so annoying! it feels like a slight burning sensation, like when you have to pee really bad, but only a tiny bit comes out.

nothing ever helped except waiting it out, i am sorry. it usually goes away Chat Icon

Thank you for responding. Yes, it is almost like a burning sensation that is there constantly (when it bothers me) and then other times and days not at all.

What did it end up being for you and how long did it last and did it come and go or just go away for good?

Thank you so much!

Yes I had that and now I make sure to drink cranberry juice on a daily basis. Cran-grape is currently my favorite...although I can't drink it too late at night because it gives me acid all night long Chat Icon

See I was doing that and it actually felt worse! I read that cranberry juice can actually make a bladder irritation (vs. an infection) worse! That acidity irritates it more Chat Icon

it ended up being nothing - i was also tested for a UTI and it came back negative.

if i recall correctly, it went away towards the end of the first tri. it did not come back after that, thank goodness!
