First time drop off to daycare

Today my husband and I dropped our little one off to daycare. Elijah did great - his parents on the other hand - not so good. My DH would be the one to drop him off in the A.M., but I had to go with him this morning. I followed him in my car as I started thinking I'm forgetting something. A block away I realized - food. I completely forgot to pack his milk.Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

As we were leaving I started to tear up when DH and I heard a lady say " I can not wait to drop my child off to daycare" My DH said " I wish we didn't have to drop off Elijah". I felt so sad but know he will be fine.

How did everyone handle their "first day"?

Awwwww... I am sure your DS is doing great! Like you said - it's harder on the parents!

I went back to work today too. I teared up & I only left him w/my Mom b/c my nanny can't start until July...

My situation is hard b/c I feel like my Mom is not thrilled to be watching him either so she keeps asking other family to help out. I will just be glad when this month is over.

The thing I found most surprising was that the people I thought would be most sympathetic (btdt moms), are the least.

I just pray each day gets easier than today! Has to, right???

I find that to be true as well.

Tomorrow has to be a better day then today. I am already doing a little better, have called the daycare once already and wil call again at 1. Trying desperately not to be "one of those parents".

You guys did better then me - my first day my mom got a call at 7AM - me hysterical - I can't drop him off today, you have to watch him, please, you promised you would help.

Day 2 he went to the babysitter - it took me about 20 minutes to leave, I cried on and off to work and I called like 3 times.

It does get easier, especially on the days that your DC is testing the limits or was up all night teething.Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon
