Awake at 5:00am and she REFUSES to nap

Why do all of my children give up napping SO young? DS#1 stopped at 19 months, DS#2 stopped at 23 months, and DD is 21 months, and has been refusing naps. When she DOES nap, she then wakes up with the sun the next day.
