Can anyone recommend an electrician?
We had one last summer but he fell off the face off the earth... does anyone have one that is reliable that they could recommend... i am in suffolk... thanks!

Here's the person we've used for a few different jobs - he found and fixed a short in our system that had half the power out upstairs, and he's also installed some ceiling lights in the dining room, kitchen and put in some outdoor lighting for us too.

It depends what you want done. DH has been an Electrician in NJ for over 15 years and if phenomenal and reasonable BUT he's not licensed in NY. booooo.
If it's minor stuff, give me a FM.

He is the ONLY electrician my FIL will work with after being in the kitchen design business for decades... very professional, on time, meticulous work.
He rewired my entire house, designed lighting for every room, replaced the box, wired the hot water heater, CAC, outside lighting, ran outlets in our garage for a second fridge and freezer, abandoned wiring from the previous owners old pool and filed papers with the town ... everything except the lights in my Christmas tree...lol.

I've recommend him to several people on this board. I know about a dozen people have used him and all were very happy with his work. Trust me, I've worked with a lot of sub-contractors and he's the only one I consistently recommend.
He is licensed in Nassau and Suffolk.

From a post I made a few months ago:
We had Danny from Arena Electric come this morning to install our bathroom exhaust fan and he was very neat, brought his own vacuum, placed sheets over everything as we was working around sheet rock and wires all morning. He showed up early to the appt, got the job done in 90 minutes and charged less than what he stated on the phone.
He's located out of Holtsville, but came to PJS. He's licensed and insured.
His number is 631-278-3311. He provides free quotes.
We'll be using him again to install ceiling fans in our house and making sure everything is up to code.
