Do you still have a Landline Phone?
Just read today that Verizon FiOS TV was up 299,000 new subscribers and their Internet up 298,000 the first quarter of 2009....
But at the same time their landline business losses where down 2.9 million in the last year.
Looks like a lot of people are either dropping there landline in favor of the Cell Phone everyone seems to have these days.

They are going VoIP instead of landline.
I have optimum and I still consider it a "landline".

I have a landline through my verizon package. I am old school though. I will never rely soley on cell phones.

I prefer a landline when talking at home anyway.

we have Optimum voice -- which technically isn't a landline -- but it is a separate house phone number...so i guess you could say "landline". i think a lot of people use the phones line with their cable modem

I've considered getting rid of our landline (through Optimum), but I haven't been able to bring myself to do it. With their discounts, it wouldn't save me much to get rid of it.

I put other because although we have a landline, we probably would not if the triple play weren't the cheapest way to go.

I still have one and don't see us getting rid of it anytime soon. I hate talking on cell phones and the connections I have with friends who have cable phone lines always seem to stink.

We got a house phone two weeks ago - the Verizon FiOS package deal. Our first home number in 8 years.
We got it mainly for emergencies and for when we have a sitter for DD.

i have a landline and one of the phones is the old school rotary just in case power is out and there is an emergency it is powered through the telephone line. I learned my less through the black out - NEVER again

We've had vonage for 5-6 years and it's great and cheap.
we have thought about the triple play when we move though.
VOIP is not a landline...if the power goes out...you will not have a phone...but it's not reason enough to pay the enormous phone co bill for me.

We just dropped our landline in hopes to get the Magic Jack. I was tired of all the telemarketing calls I got on the landline and it wasnt worth the money since no one was calling us on it. My only concern about the Magic Jack is that you have to keep your computer on in order for it to work. I wonder what that will do to our electric bill.

yes, we have a landline. we both have cell phones, but would never rely on them where we are. There is spotty, if any, cell service where we are.
