How did you know your DC was ready to transition from 2 to 1 naps/day??
DS is 14.5months---was sleeping 7p-7a & 2 naps @ 9 & 1 (both about 1.5 hours)---off and on the last couple weeks he has been skipping the 2nd nap (just playing in his crib for an hour)---so I thought maybe he was ready---I kept him up this morning and the poor kid was soooo tired, I put him down at 11:30 & he is sleeping now. I am not sure what to do----should I keep putting him down 2x/day and not worry about him missing the 2nd nap ----although by bedtime he is usually a disaster. Or try to transition him? He has also been waking earlier in the morning then usual if that makes a difference too. Thanks!

Im in same boat but dd is 18m.. Shes been waking up later so on those days I put down for nap later.. which makes only one nap. The days she wakes up early we try and do 2 naps, but sometimes she wont shell just play in the crib.. Im just following her lead and seems to be working fine. Still going down at night at her original time with no trouble. (hope I didnt just jinx myself)

my kids just wouldn't go down for their morning nap until later and by the time they woke up it was too late to have another nap. I didn't keep them up longer, they did the change on their own. My oldest was 17 months old and my youngest was around 10 months old.
