Moms of #2 with no help- plan for delivery?
For those moms expecting number two who already have a small one and have no help , how do you plan on dealing with labor/delivery?
It is just hubby and I here, no family members here that can help and no friends, and baby #1 will be exactly 1 when baby #2 is due.
Are any of you considering an Induction? or Elective c section

Re: Moms of #2 with no help- plan for delivery?
I have not decided if I am going to try to have a vbac or another c/s. As for help, my family is 1 1/2 hour away as is DHs. I am going to ask my neighbor to watch DS. She has done so before and he likes her.

I am not a fan of selective inductions but I feel in certain circumstances you need to have one and this is one of them.

Re: Moms of #2 with no help- plan for delivery?
i'm very worried about this because my first labor was relatively quick - i'm scared that i won't have too much time to get my DS anywhere.
we don't have any family in the area. we do have friends and neighbors who would help but i would feel funny if i needed help in the middle of the night...
in the end, i'm hoping that my mother will come down to NC at about 37 weeks and stay until i give birth. i know it's a lot to ask of her, though...
basically i have no idea what we'll do

Im pretty nervous about this as well and the dr has talked induction for me already -due to #1 being a huge baby. So maybe this may the pusher to make me go ahead with this although Im a bit reluctant because I hear inductions have a higher rate of c-section.

Re: Moms of #2 with no help- plan for delivery?
yah i have no idea what ia m going to do because i do not have any of those options that some of you guys can even consider. No neighbors , friends, family etc.... i can not ask my mom to come b/c she annoys me to no end and she is not physically able to take care of a toddler due to having had cancer and etc.... so really i am thinking c section probably just to make it easier on me.
i am more about planning i guess... i would feel better.

Now that we live OOS this is a fear of mine and I'm not even pg with #2 yet Remember no matter how much you plan you always need a plan B. Who's to say you won't go into labor or your water will break before you have something scheduled? Start befriending some neighbors, local moms, church members, etc..

What about hiring a doula or a baby nurse for the first couple of weeks?
