Is this dress too much for a day wedding*update
Is this dress too dark or too beaded to wear to an afternoon wedding in May?
The ceremony is at 2 in a church, and the reception says "immediately following" but it is about 20 minutes away, so I am guessing 3:30 or 4 until about 9, so I am kind at a loss as to how formal I should go.
DH is in the wedding so he'll be wearing a tux, and the reception is in a country club, if that helps.

update for Anonttcer & anyone else who is interested:
The dress came today -a week after I ordered it. It fits pretty true to size. I ordered my regular size & 1 up, b/c the measurements made me think I would need the extra boob room, but the regular size fits. The under layer is cut like a sheath, and the overlay is more a-line.
I am not sure if I like it though. The overlay material isn't smooth. It is a netting, like a tulle veil. It kind of reminds me of a dance costume.  The beading does look nicer in person.
I am going to see how long I have to return it & see if I find anything better in the meantime.

Thanks! I've only seen it on-line, I am hoping it is as nice in person.
It wasn't at all what I was looking for ( I never wear black!), but I keep thinking about it.

Thanks-I ordered it.
It's from Spiegel. I've never ordered from there, so I don't know how good the quality is, but they have a free shipping promo right now, so I ordered 2 sizes & I'll see how it goes.
And Chris-good call- Adrianna Papell has 2 very similar dresses (in blue & purple) on Nordstrom.com, but they didn't have my size.

If you don't mind letting me know how it is when you get it, I'd appreciate it.
I might actually want to order it for a wedding i have coming up- and am just curious about the quality, if it looks the same in person as the picture here and how the fit is... true to size, etc.
