if im due first week of october...

when should my mom be aiming to have my shower? she wants to have it about 4 weeks before im due (first weekend in sept). is that enough time to get everything prepped? we're not registering for the baby furniture, my parents will buy it for us if that matters at all.

october mommies...when do you suppose yours will be?

I am due Oct 6...I am not sure b/c I am Jewish but my DH is Catholic and I am sure his family is gunna throw me a shower...I am clueless, sorry...I will see what everyone else says, lol

I've heard quite a bit about this from a couple BTDT Moms - they've all told me that 6 weeks before due date is probably ideal. At 36 weeks, they were not feeling so great, so I think 4wks before due date might be a little tiring!

I think August would probably be good for you..roughly 6 - 8 weeks before...JMO.

I had my shower at 37.5 weeks. Yes, it pizzed me off, but I don't feel that I can tell people who are hosting a party for me when they should have it (unless I couldn't go, of course)

My DS was born exactly 10 days later and we didnt have any problem having everything ready.

just wanted to add that my sister's friend was due early Feb, so her shower was planned for Jan 10th. Wellll baby decided to come the morning of Jan 10th! Poor girl didn't make it to her own shower.

ok i was thinking the same thing maybe mid august. but my only problem is that my SIL is due first week of august and i really want her to be there. you think 2 weeks after she gives birth that she'll want to come out for my shower? or maybe the 3rd or 4th weekend in july is better?

my girlfriend had her shower last saturday at 36 weeks and delivered on tuesday two days after.. she wasnt able to get anything put away or organized before he came..

I would say the last weekend in August. I wouldn't do the first weekend in September since it's Labor Day weekend and people go away. Plus it gives your SIL a few weeks.

i had DS on 9/5 (was due 9/8 and i actually asked to have it early because i wanted time to set everything up - i had my shower at 31 weeks on 7/20. it was great b/c i wasn't huge and tired and we were able to get a lot of stuff that we needed for the baby with the GCs we received.

you should have it at least 6 weeks before - closer to 8 weeks.

You may have a ton of returns and you don't want to do it when you are almost due. Plus you'll want to get everything ready for the baby!
