I never post things like this but we really need as many prayers as we can get... DS got a strange belly button infection last weekend. I thought he had a hernia as of Monday morning. It turns out he has omphalitis which is very rare in a 17 month old. His umbilicals never really disappeared and have formed a cyst near his bladder that he needs to have surgically removed. He also has a serious staph infection (potentially MRSA) so we've been in the hospital since Tuesday and arent sure we can leave for another week. Good news is he's responding well to the antibiotics though so hopefully, he can be switched to an oral one but at least we know this one is working.
It's been a very difficult week and we could really use some prayers...
Update 3/13: We're still waiting to find out if he can go home today. We're praying hard. To make a difficult week even worse, I am have my second chemical pregnancy in a row (I had one in Feb too). I had to leave the hospital this morning to see my OB and now I have to leave again to get an ultrasound this afternoon to try to find out what is wrong. I really don't know how much more I can take...
Update 3/14: We're HOME! DS is so happy to be home and playing with his toys and sleeping in his own bed that you can feel his elation! We'll have to go back for surgery in about 2 weeks but it should only entail a one night stay. I'm so worried but for now, I'm just trying to focus on being greatful to have him home now.
