how much whole milk does your 1 yr old get?
and at what times do they get a bottle or sippy cup?

dd gets 3 bottles of milk a day. One two hours after breakfast, one two hours after lunch and then one before bed. We give her about 8 ozs.. there are times she down the entire thing and ask for more, then there are times shell only drink an ounce of it and doesnt want rest.. so not really sure the amt she gets.. so on average I would say about 15-25ozs a day.
eta: this is now at 17m old.. when she was 12m old we just gave her 3 bottles of 8ozs, which she would drink about 20oz out of the 24ozs or so.
also.. no sippy cup still.. she wont drink milk out of it.. only water.

DD used to get 3 bottles or cups opf milk at that age. all 8oz servings, so 24 oz a day. One in the AM. One before nap. one before bed. HTH!

A child one year or older should not intake more than 16 oz. of milk.
My DS takes appx. 8 oz. in the morning in a sippy cups and an 8 oz. bottle.

really? I know my peds told me this about formula.. but never mentioned anything about milk.. My dd defiantly does more than 16ozs..
Why shouldnt they have more than 16ozs?

My doc says 20-24 ozs 
DS gets approx 16-18 ozs all in sippys. He also eats yogurt and cheese everyday.

At that age DD was drinking around 24 ounces, 3 times a day. Ped said no more than 24 ounces...I believe too much calcium can prevent the absorption of other vitamins/minerals, that's why there's a cap on the recommended daily amount.

My DD's Ped wants them to have no more than 16 ozs a day.
So my girls get 8 ozs in the morning and 8 ozs at night.

That's what I thought it was too.... I think it has to do with the fact that they aren't taking the milk as their nutrition intake any longer, and that they are taking it in for vitamin/fat intake.

She has:
8oz bottle at 10am
8 oz sippy cup at 3pm (she usually never finishes this)
6oz bottle before bed..

Disagree, my ped said 24 oz max.
DS is almost 15 months old and he takes 4 bottles each 5 oz.
7:30 - wake up bottle
11:00 - after AM nap
3:00 - before PM nap
8:00 - Before bed

My ped. also says no more than 24 ounces..
She gets breakfast, lunch and dinner milk. About 7 ounces or so since that is what fits in the cup.

Ditto the the 24oz. DS is offered 4 6oz cups a day. Some days he downs it all, other days he probably gets around 18-20 oz.

Right now he is getting 2 bottles a day.
8-9 am 7 oz
12-1 pm 7 oz
and I nurse him before bed

Everything I have read and info from my ped says 16 oz. is min milk requirement because of calcium nec and 24 oz is max because it can lead to an iron deficiency.

My ped said 16oz. Maybe 16 to 20 but DD takes 16oz a day and the ped was very happy with that.
She has 4 4-oz bottles a day - one as soon as she wakes up, one before her morning nap, one before her afternoon nap and one at bed time.
I don't know if DD would take milk from a sippy cup... she expects juice or water in her sippy cups. I've never tried milk in a sippy but I half expect that she'd throw it across the room.
