needle insertion?

Is the position of the needle upon insertion important? During the nurse consultation, she never mentioned the position or angle to insert. I have read that inserting on an angle is ok. But, inserting Menopur should be straight in. Of course I read the position thing after I injected the Menpur and now I feel I may not absorb the full dosage. I do have fat around my belly, does that absorb the meds thus reducing the affect of the drug? Sorry for the dumb questions.

I started 600 Follistim on Wed and my e2 was 38. Today, US showed 3 follies less than 10 and my e2 was 40. So they started me on Menopur 75 IU. I guess this is a slow start. I am now concerned about the absorbtion.

Sorry for the ramble but this is my first IVF.

Re: needle insertion?

Depending on your weight or BMI, the RE may switch you to IM injections to improve the absorption rate.
I don't think the angle of the needle is going to affect your absorption...weight is a much bigger factor.
