At what point would you take him to the doctor?
DS started with a cold Sunday night. He has been running around a 100.3 to 101.6 fever. Today he has a 102. He had a cold/virus 6 weeks ago. I took him to the doctor 3 times and they kept telling me it was just a virus. He ended up getting a double ear infection. I have a ridiculous copay and can't afford to bring him to the doctor for them to tell me its just a virus. I am nervous about it going into his ears again though. I would feel horrible if I didn't bring him and he had one. At what point would you bring him? He is almost 8 months.

Since he has been running a fever for a few days, I would call and see what they say.

I would call and check in with the doctor. Remind them about the ear infection also. They may not need to see him now, but it doesn't hurt to check with the doctor.

I'd take him since he has been running a fever. I'm sorry about the co-pay, but it has to be done.
Can they bill you the co-pay so you can pay it when you get paid?

Re: At what point would you take him to the doctor?
As long as he's going through diapers, drinking, not pulling on his ears or has any secondary symptoms, I'd probably let it run its course
(UNLESS YOU ARE TAKING ABOUT NEWBORN). That was caps for the moms of newborns reading this - I wouldn't want them to put off taking their baby in for a fever.
Also the high fever is his body's attempt to kill the infection. It's not such a bad thing.
Hope it gets resolved soon.
