refresh my memory...fingers/fists in mouth @ 4 mths old
is it because she CAN or is it teething?
back when DS was a drooly mess around this age the NP told me it was just his salivary glands working overtime and regulating themselves
I didn't bother to ask her again this time around

Are there other signs? Drooling? Inflamed gums whitish with the ridge?

Emma was doing this a that age, everyone said she was teething. She did not get a tooth until 10 months old. So for her, it was because she could.

My ped said this is normal behavior for this age and really doesn't necessarily indicate teething. DS has been trying to get BOTH fists in his mouth for the last few days and is soaking his crib sheets with drool His gums look fine so I don't think it's teething just yet.

it's not teething for us, it's just because he can - he is drooling but not excessively, he's not in pain at all, and he doesn't have red or swollen gums.
