If you've got an eye on a Nikon....
Read this. You may want to think about buying now. I got this from Berger bros where I bought my camera.
Due to current economic conditions, Nikon has informed us that effective February 1, 2009, they are being forced to re-structure their pricing. This means that they will be increasing their prices across the board. Some products will be increasing by almost 15%!!

Appliance companies are raising their prices too - most already have - but some are waiting until end of January...(dave sells appliances)...

It's probably true. They've already implemented price increases in Canada, UK & Australia.

Yeah I heard about this... they already went up on a few things that had dropped slightly just before the holidays, but I heard that much is standard anyway.

I believe it.  Overall, the prices of SLR's have come down largely over the past years, making it a little more "afforadable" to the average consumer (I mean this generally, I know that to some, $800 is not afforadable, but I was speaking in general overall).
Luckily, I am set with my camera and lenses for now.

Oh no I was getting inspired by you ladies to take on photography as a hobby as a birthday gift for myself. We were gonna start saving now, but if the price goes up, then it'll be impossible!
