Help with potty training

SO my DD was going on the potty fine for about a month, we would ask her and she would say yes, we would go to the potty and get a sticker and make it a big deal.. She was even going on the travel potty when we were put..
Then we did poopoo one day and now she says she is scared of the potty and refuses to go... and when we get her into the bathroom she screams bloody murder... I made a whole new chart, let her pick out the stickers and nothing.. I even started putting underware under her puullup and it does not bother her at all...
Does anyone have suggestions or stories of how they did it.. She will be 3 in March and I would really like to her to be going on her own..
Thank you

Re: Help with potty training

At home, does she use a potty or a seat on the toilet? I found DD was much more willing to go if we used a potty...

Did anything happen? Have you ever used one of those potties with an auto flush in a public bathroom...I know someone whose child was terrified after that...

Can you try bribing her with M&Ms or something? I know, I know, bad habits, but she won't require them forever...

good luck with it!!

Re: Help with potty training

She loves the flush.. It was after the poopoo that she has been scared..
we started with the elmo potty and then moved to the big seat because she wanted to , I think I am going to try bribing with candy or something

Re: Help with potty training

I too would take a break from it. She will go when she's ready. I feel like we as parents put so much pressure on ourselves to have them trained when "society" thinks they should be trained. I found that age 3 is the trigger for children.

If you and she are both getting upset, put it aside for now. She'll eventually go.

I learned this the hard way. My oldest DD gave me the hardest time and everyone on here told me above, so I'm going to pass on to you.

My little one is almost 3 too and she wants nothing to do with it. I will encourage her but I'm not going to stress over it.

Re: Help with potty training

The same thing happened with my DD. Then she was constipated for a week!!!!! I called the doctor and they said do not go back to pull ups or diapers, that as long as she is ready (which she must be if she has been going for a month) then just keep the undies on. They would give me the name of a gentle laxative if it came to that. However, it was too late for me, I put her in pull ups already but luckily we went to target a few days later and she saw sleeping beauty underwear and that was the end of the pull ups. I bought prune juice, raisin bran, etc. She had a few accidents, even pooped in her underwear but after about 3 or 4 days she went poopy on the potty and has been great ever since. Just hang in there.
I am not saying push her, only if she is ready. My DD was staying dry all night long so I knew she was ready.
