Toeing in while walking?
Did anyone else's toddler point their toe in while walking? I brought it up with my ped, who said it is normal to some extent. Of course, I am still worried though... when DD is in shoes, she tends to trip over her own feet more. At what point should I be more concerned? Did it just go away on its own for your DC?

Do you mean tip toeing? My friend's 2 yr old DD still does this and she's fine. It's cute - she looks like a princess prancing around.

Mads does this, mostly while barefoot. I tend to walk on my toes so I'm assuming that might play a part in it.

No, not tip toeing, I mean pointing one foot inwards (I think some people call it pigeon toe) when walking. With DD her left toes, instead of facing forward, they point a little bit towards the right. She ends up tripping over them because of it...

Oh, I'm sorry. I'm not sure then. My DD walks with one of her feet slanted in, like the whole foot and every time I brought it up to the doctor he said it's fine and they are still developing, etc. and he doesn't worry until 4 or 5 and most things correct themselves. I am not sure how right he is about it - but that is what he told me.

when samantha first started walking she did...our ped said its normal, they were cramped up inside us for 9 mos and then didn't use their feet to walk, stand straight for umpty-months more....i believe it has to do with building muscles and getting stronger...dd no longer toes in anf ped said she's fine all along!

That does cause in toeing.
Here's what I mean:
When my friend took her daughter to a specialist over it, she was told that she should never allow her daughter to sit with her legs in a "w". She was less than diligent about it & her daughter (8 yo) walks with an in-toed gait.

Yes, she does quite often and we are constantly telling her to sit "pretzel legs" but we don't always catch it!

The dr told me it should go away on its own. DS hasnt been walking very long and I notice it sometimes.

My DD does this. I asked her ped and she said it was fine. I was still worried so i brought her to an orthopedist and they said it was ok also. Her tibia slightly twists, they said her muscle on the inner part of her leg is tight so that nis what most likely will cause it so we have to stretch her legs. But as she is getting taller it is looking better. The toeing in they said should correct itself by the time they are 5. So i wouldnt worry about it at all
