Help! I am afraid to clean my couches. I was going to have them professionally cleaned, but then I realized I can just take the covers off of the cushions and wash them in the washing machine.

I guess I am afraid of them shrinking in the dryer or losing their shape badly. Has anyone done it this way or should I just pay to have someone clean them? I was hoping to save a little money. Thanks!
