Re: can someone tell me about BETHPAGE
I worked over there. I really liked it, thought it was a very pretty area. All the houses seemed in good condition. It seemed like a quiet area, but was widely accessible. I liked that you had Hempstead Tpke and Old Country Rd not too far away. So you had alot of stores at your convenience.
I dont have much to offer, but figured I would add my 2 cents and answer your post

Re: can someone tell me about BETHPAGE
I love Bethpage. I grew up there and would LOVE to move back, but DH feels differently lol The SD is great, the town is clean and small and very "homey". It's one of those "everyone knows everyone" kind of place. You have access to all major shopping areas/malls. Oh and i've found the taxes to be in the $6-8k range
anything else let me know

Re: can someone tell me about BETHPAGE
We've lived here for 6 years. I like Bethpage more north of Stewart closer to Old Country Rd. We live right on the Plainview border and I love the neighborhood and the people. I think the homes are kept nice and the prices are reasonable for the proximity to the city. I commute to work on the LIRR.
Lost of shopping in the area. There seems to be a lack of restaurants though but if you drive 15 minutes in any direction you will find what you like.
FM if you have any specific ???..

I grew up there and did look at houses there, another DH who didnt want to live there.
Taxes are reasonable (from other towns) close to RR, stores, Parkways etc.
I loved it, still do. Im there every day still!

Ditto except I have only lived here 1.5 years and I no longer commute!
I also think the neighborhood right north of the LIRR near JFK middle school is really cute.

FYI, some of Bethpage is in the Island Trees School District and some is in the Plainedge School District in addition to the Bethpage School District.

I found out that Kramer Lane elementary doesn't have a music program. I am not happy about this but right now I don't have kids. If i'm blessed enough to have a child and still live here I may be stirring the pot about that.

Re: can someone tell me about BETHPAGE
My husband's best friend lives there and LOVES it. We were thinking of buying there, and looked at houses there. Very cute town, lots of convenient stores and the train station.

Re: can someone tell me about BETHPAGE
my parents live in N massapequa in the plainedge DS. Bethpage borders N Mass. and I love it there. I would look at homes there, but I too have a DH who doesn't want to buy there, I don't get it The homes are very nice and the taxes are reasonable. I would look there first over N. Mass bc taxes are too high
