Flood watch issued for LI

A cold front stalled southeast of Long Island is expected to turn light early-morning drizzle into heavy, driving rains by late Thursday, leading to the issuance of a flood watch for the area, according to the National Weather Service.

Forecasters are predicting hazardous weather that could include flooding, widespread icing and "rapidly cooling temperatures" Friday.

The temperature is hovering in the low 40s -- with a reading of 41 degrees in Melville -- for the morning rush hour Thursday.

Forecasters are predicting northeast winds of between 10 and 15 mph with gusts of up to 25 mph on Thursday. On Friday, northeast winds of between 15 and 20 mph are expected with gusts of up to 30 mph -- and a chance of snow.

Ugh I am not looking forward to what I may come home to later. We are in a flood zone

My entire yard is nothing but dirt at this point. The excavator back-filled the new septic system, and spread the extra dirt around the yard, so there is almost no grass anywhere..... that should be interesting during torrential downpours...

thanks to this....I have 2 inches of water in my basement
