Insomnia
Is killing me! I never had this with Alex.
I am exhausted all day long, but when it comes time to sleep, I can't fall asleep, and when I do, it's such a light, restless sleep and I toss and turn and wake up every 2 hours.
And I wake up, on the button, at 4am every night and can't fall back asleep.
Anyone else? Anything I can do to get a good night's rest?

Re: Insomnia
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
oh MY GOD yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
the ONLY thing that has helped me is taking zyrtec every night (because i cannot breathe without it, actually, even when on it - i still can't breathe, but it does take away the HORRID sinus headache, so that's something)...
i can fall asleep at the drop of a hat during the day - middle of a sentence, conversation, etc...but at night...(prior to the zyrtec) - NOTHING...up until 2:30 - 3:00 and up again at 6...
i FEEL your pain!!!!!!!!!! What about hot tea, milk before bed? going for a walk after you get home (maybe at the mall since it's ugly out)??

Re: Insomnia
I have had it on and off throughout the entire pregnancy. It sucks...
When I spoke to my doc about it, he said to not fight it-- and just do something else for a little while, or wake up DH for some sex.

Oh trust me, I'm exhausted enough by the time 9pm rolls around after running after a 3 year old. I think I'm just going to have to resolve myself to not sleeping for another 2+ years. At least it's me and not hubby - I can function on 4-5 hours of sleep, he can't, and I'd rather suffer than hear him whine about it

Re: Insomnia
I have the exact same issue. I am so tired by the time that I get home- I can't keep my eyes open. I finally go to bed, and I lay there awake. The entire night. I think I get about 3 hours of sleep a night. I can't stand it. I was thinking about taking up knitting because there is nothing for me to do while DH is snoring!

Re: Insomnia
Unfortunately I had this with DS and am experiencing it now with this pregnancy. My doctor did let me take Tylenol PM when it got really bad so I take that at least once per week so I can get at least one night of good sleep.

ITA!
Last night I got in bed at 9:30 and woke up at 6:30am but all the tossing and turning and bathroom breaks are soooo annoying!

Re: Insomnia
Beth - it will get better! I had awful insomina in the beginning that tapered off before the end of the 1st trimester. I was so exhausted all the time during the day that I would sometimes just sit at my desk and cry!
Now when I get up my million times per night to pee, I can fall right back asleep instead of laying wide awake until an hour before my alarm clock goes off!

Re: Insomnia
I have consistently been waking up between 2-5am and have difficulty going back to bed. Then I finally do fall asleep and it is tortorous trying to wake up for work. This happens every night. Ugh.
