Irish Moms... Name Books?
DH and I will be naming our baby an Irish-Gaelic name. We have a few already in mind, and even though I have several fluent Irish speakers in my family, I thought it would be fun to get an Irish Baby Name book. Does anyone have one they recommend? I looked on Amazon.com and a lot of those seem really stereotypical and the translations and spellings look off on some of them.

The only one I have is Beyond Shannon & Sean: An Enlightened Guide To Irish Baby Naming
It's okay - I don't love it but it was fun to look at.

Yeah, I saw that one on Amazon... MyDH didn't like the title as he is a Sean!

Re: Irish Moms... Name Books?
I looked and looked for a good book of Irish names, but I had a tough time finding one. I mostly used the internet as my resource, but I found SO many names that I know would be butchered because they are not spelled phonetically. But if you have Irish speakers in your family it probably won't be as much as issue.
We decided on an "Irish-sounding" 1st name that isn't a traditional Irish name, so I figure that's a compromise.
