Well, that was depressing...

just got back from my lunch break and went to Kohl's.

wanted to get a new bra or two because mine is hurting me.

my size is horrifying...they barely had any selection for it and what they did was NOT underwire and was not comfortable at all...

shame spiral....just had to vent... Chat Icon Chat Icon

Chat Icon Can you use extenders? I saw some in a maternity store, and apparently they help extend the time in your normal size.

Re: Well, that was depressing...

try macy's or an actual bra store - they usually have a much bigger selection and they're higher quality - they last forever! i never have luck at kohl's or target. and i dunno about you but i HATE victoria's secret - they never fit right. the big department stores or specialty stores are the way to go.

i've never ever been able to buy in Victoria's Secret...i'm not a little girl (and by little i mean under a size 14)...they never have my size in there, so i don't even bother anymore...

i'm definitely going to try other stores - i've ALWAYS hated clothes shopping - but for some reason - this really, really hurt.

I will keep an eye out for extenders too - thank you for the suggestion!

Re: Well, that was depressing...

Just remember, the extenders are only good for increasing the band width, not your cup size. I just had to buy new bras, because I was starting to spill out of the sides of my cups.

Yes, definitely try a department store like Macy's where they have a full lingerie dept. You'll get more sizes and better quality to help "support" you. Chat Icon Chat Icon

What about trying a maternity store?
I never find anything in Kohl's and I'm a 36D (normally) ..........it's not a totally irregular size - Places like that are hit or miss - ya know? Don't be so hard on yourself !!Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Try Blums in Patchogue. From one big ( . ) ( . ) to another... they carry larger sizes both wirred and underwired. I'm a 38 DDD. I'm not sure if they carry nursing bras but maybe just a few good bras to hold you a few months through the pregnancy will help..........

Re: Well, that was depressing...

i'm going to give the specialty stores a shot - my concern is that at 9 weeks, 5 days - i have a LOT more growing to do....

so spending 60 bucks at georgettes' or a similar store on one bra to need a new one the next month....i just don't know...

i have such horrible body/self image issues i should've known they would cause me pain even now, when i'm the happiest i've ever been...

Re: Well, that was depressing...

i just bought some in the Hanes Outlet....

They are in the outlets in Riverhead and there's one in the Source Mall.

If no luck there, I recommend Great Shapes. they have a few locations on the Island. there is one on Merrick Rd. in Merrick/Wantagh and one on Willis Ave. in Albertson/Roslyn Heights. They are a little pricey, but they will fit you properly. I got my bra for my wedding dress there...they're great.
