Doctor choice
Since I will probably need another LAP, which kind of doctor would you go to?
My doctor gave me the names of 2 doctors. 1 is from Duke Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility, has a lot of experience and is a "hand holder" which my doctor says I need and the other doctor is from the UNC Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, division of Advanced Laparoscopy & Pelvic Pain, who she said is an excellent surgeon, but not much experience with Endo "per say", and not a hand holder, more abrupt I guess. Which do you think is a better choice? If I go with the UNC doctor I'll need to switch plans. Thanks!

If it were me I would definately go with the first doctor...the hand holder with experience. You get the best of both worlds that way. Good luck

I was thinking that too, but I was worried about having someone operating on me that's only good compared with excellent?

I say go with doctor #1. I am sure he is very capable AND to me a good bed side manner means the world. If the doctor can't make me feel good about my situation I just won't be comfortable.

Hmmm this is true but as maybepreggers said (right above me) a good bedside manner is so important. You need to feel like you're in the capable hands of someone that has your best interests in mind and someone who will communicate what course of action is best for you....someone who will make you fully understand your condition without making you feel like just a number. And I'm thinking too that if your doctor recommended him then he/she must be capable of doing a great job. I dont think he would have recommended him otherwise.
