Re: Rate your Self As A Mother.
Pretty fantastic....but I DEFInitely have things to learn.
Each day for me is a learning process. She teaches me something each day and because of that it forces me to be the best that I can.
Am I always? No
She tests my patience every day and I do need to work on that. From day one she's been teaching me about patience.
I've overcome a lot of obstacles and struggles with DD and I like to think that i do MY best when it comes to her, in every aspect of her life.

I am very, very average. Some days I think I'm GREAT and others I think I'm the worst.
Some days I will react a certain way and think "good job" to myself. other days, i will react a certain way to something else and beat myself up that I was too harsh, or lost my patience too quickly or something.
I could have written this word for word.

Same here...I LOVE and ADORE my children with all my heart. My parents were FANTASTIC parents..IMO the BEST!! My childhood memories put a smile on my face and that is what I want for my children. Even on my bad days, I still think I am a great mother because we made it another day and no one got hurt

Re: Rate your Self As A Mother.
I also thought I was going to be a bad mom, was terrified over it, but a friend told me that the mother's who are worried about being bad mom's are the good ones. The bad ones never think about being good or bad.
I may not be the best of the best, but I know that I give my kids all that I have and they are happy and healthy. A year ago I would have said average since I had zero patience and was always yelling, but after therapy and dealing with things regarding their birth and first few months I am a much better mommy to them.

Re: Rate your Self As A Mother.
I feel like I am decent--I keep up with his milestones, make sure he is fed and clothed and put him in various activities
However, I do wish I was able to spend MORE time with him and I do still feel like i have a lot to learn
I make sure he gets LOTS of love and adoration--to me, that goes a long way

Re: Rate your Self As A Mother.
This question is really interesting but I don't know how to answer it.
DH and I love DD more than we could ever imagine, we think through every decision with DD at the forefront of thought process, we play with her all the time and are extremely patient with her, have never in our lives raised our voice to her. I look forward to when she wakes up. I look forward to cuddle time before she goes to bed. We are trying to expose her to religion so she has something to lean on in her life in addition ot family. We are constantly trying to show her the world and help her learn.
However, DH and I are sometimes hard on each other. We try never to fight in front of her, but kids can still sense under tones and we should do a better job of that. We've made mistakes, hopefully nothing too detrimental!
In any case, I don't feel like I can answer this question-I almost don't feel entitled to answer. It's more important to me what DD's answer to this question will be in 30 years when she has kid of her own and starts to think of the kind of mom she wants to be. I hope she thinks, "I want to be like my mom". But, we'll see!
