The dreaded "H" word
It seems that pregnancy symptoms, like bad things, come in 3s. Yesterday my heartburn returned and I started having Braxton Hicks. Today, it seems I have hemorrhoids. Probably TMI, but I went to the bathroom and there was blood when I wiped (definitely not vaginal bleeding). Every time I wiped there was some more blood. Now my rear end kind of burns.
I called my doctor's office and was told I can take Preparation H and a warm bath. For those who have had hemorrhoids, what did you take? Did it work? How quickly did you get some relief? Did they come back again?

Re: The dreaded "H" word
I don't have them, but I've read many people recommending tucks pads..
but I'd also like to recommend that you increase your water and veggie/fiber consumption...
I was very careful to maintain a diet super-high in fiber and water when I was constipated in the 2nd trimester, and it worked out very well. never had a dreaded 'H', and never had to take any medication to resolve my 'problem'....

I'm glad you're intelligent enough to realize that was what was happening to you. A few weeks back I ended up in Labor & Delivery because I didn't know where/why I was bleeding. I'm a dope!
Tucks or preparation H pads work wonder. You might also want to consider taking fiber every day. I take Metamucil every morning and it really helps. Make sure you're staying hydrated too...and take your time when you go #2!

More TMI, but if I were constipated, I'd pretty much expect to get hemorrhoids. I haven't been constipated since the very beginning. In fact, I tend to have the opposite problem almost daily. That's why I was when I saw blood on the toilet paper. I must have a very sensitive behind.

If it makes you feel any better I am exactly the same way. NEVER been constipated either. I'm super regular.

Re: The dreaded "H" word
I had them after giving birth. Tucks pads helped and so did the sitz bath with just warm water.

Re: The dreaded "H" word
i had them as well... i never used anything like tucks but i do use sensitive baby wipes instead of toilet paper which is much more soothing, and helps me to heal faster (i am prone to them and got them before being PG).
