What exactly is a yeast infection. How do you know the difference between this and UTI. SORRY i just confused.

a yeast infection is when you have an increased amount of bacteria that grows on/in the vagina. It causes you to feel intense intching and sometimes burning.

A Urinary Tract Infection in an infection in the urethra (sp?) and it gives you the feeling you have to pee non-stop. Then, when you pee it burns like a mo-fo.

Wow....your so lucky you DON'T know the difference!!! I've had both a couple of times in my life and neither is a fun experience.

Yeast infections are probably the single most uncomfortable feeling in the world. It feels like you vajay is on fire and you just want to stick something up i there and scratch all day long. There's also a lot of colorful discharge, sometimes a smell, and it's just plain gross if it gets out of hand. I was lucky when I had mine b/c I recognized the itching right away and stuffed some monistat up there ASAP!!!

UTI can also be very uncomfortable if left untreated for a period of time (and deadly if it reaches back into the kidneys when left untreated for a long time). It feels like you have to pee non-stop, but then you run into the bathroom and only 2 drips come out. And then you sit on the toilet for another 5 minutes just trying to "push" some extra pee out because it feels better to push and hurts to relax.

Neither one is fun....and both need antibiotic treatment as soon as possible.

BE CAREFUL DURING PREGNANCY THO...if you think you have one of these conditions, mention it to your Dr...because if they don't do an internal during one of your visits, they may miss a yeast infection...and during pregnancy, for hormonal reasons, you may NOT feel symptoms of both like you normally do...I have had 2 yeast infections so far...and no itchyness ...I was actually doubting the Dr's prognosis because I have had them in the past, and there was no escaping the symptons...also girls on here have said they have had uti's with no symptoms during pregnancy and didn't find out until the office called them back to say they need to be treated...so once again, if you suspect tell your doc and he/she will do a urinalysis to test for uti or a culture to test for yeast. I hope you have none of these...but if you do its not a big deal if you treat them asap. Good luck

I just had a UTI (which I hope is gone) and from the antibiotics, I got a yeat infection - my first one ever. It definitely itches and burns a little, and I felt very irritated when I wiped after peeing. A UTI feels like you have to pee all the time. There is a definite difference between the 2 symptoms. If you are unsure, go see your doctor.

Thanks girls!! i have no itchiness, no burning nothing. TMI alert and im sorry in advance..i do have some white stuff in the creases down there not a lot doesnt seem to have a fowl odor thats y i was wondering. Thanks again. Now im sooooo embarassed

white stuff sounds like regular discharge, but I'd call your dr. to make sure.

For me, a yeas infection itches like crazy. When I have a UTI I have to pee urgently even when there is nothing in there. The last time I had one it was also very painful to pee and I had a lot of blood in my urine.

If you think anything, call you DR...I just got the call that I have a UTI on top of my yeast infection!! And I have NO symptoms ...so off to CVS for me....
