DD is 10 months and she has them also. i think its becasue she is such a restless sleeper and never gets a truely good nights sleep and doesn;t nap very well.

Re: Black under the eye

sleep is a issue...and sometimes its called "Shiners" allergy related.
Maybe he is slightly intolerant to grass or pollen and such.
U also would be amazed how many bad sleepers have sleep apnea..
Watch to see if he sleeps with his mouth open or ever has unexplainable bad breath

I was going to say this as well. A friends child seemed to frequently have this black and blue look under her eyes--and sometimes the bridge of her nose--and it was allergy related.

I was told that it could mean dehydration. Is he taking in enough fluids?

I was going to say the same things. DD has an allergy to cats. Until we got the cats, she always had a dark tingue under her eyes. Allergy shiners is what the allergist called them. She also had a persistently red nose.
