Spinoff... So exactly HOW did you tell your boss?
I am not going to tell anyone at work until the end of the first trimester (unless morning sickness intervenes and I have to tell earlier). Was it hard for any of you to tell your boss? I'm pretty nervous about telling mine since I know it's not going to be his most favorite news to hear... (but hey, it's our most favorite news to tell! )

I told my boss when I was 7 weeks. I travel a lot for my job, and have to attend many evening events, with my fatigue and nausea, I just couldn't do it (and don't want to apparently), so I just told her in one of our catch up meetings.
She was very happy for me, supportive and gave me a hug.

I said:
"I have good news and bad news for YOU, the bad news is I will be out for a few months, the good news is I"M COMING BACK!!!!"
I also highighted how I planned to work until the end (this was a benefit for me since I saved my time and had more time to be ot on Maternit leave.
I also formulated a coverage plan for myself and presented it to my boss when I was telling him so it was once less thing for management to have to figure out.

I got lucky....my boss made an announcement in the middle of a meeting with all my other Administrators that she felt I had a bun in the oven.....no one new and I had JUST found out myself like 3 days earlier!
When my face turned beat red and I started to sweat they all pretty much figured it out, I was glad she did it for me so I didn't need to prepare!

I told my principal around 8 weeks because I wasn't feeling great. I wasn't sure when I would start showing, so I pretty much went to her office and blurted out that I am pregnant. We've had a lot of pregnancies in my school this year....I'm number 7.

i didn't have to  my boss knew when i was only 5 weeks b/c i was running to the bathroom to pee every 10 minutes, and i have to go past her office to get to the bathroom.
it was kind of a relief actually!
