Another Pro-life/choice Spin-off (sorry)
Just a quick question:
What does it mean to use abortion as a form of BC?
-Does having 1 abortion constitute this
or
-multiple "accidents" that are "fixed" using abortion?
Just curious!
TIA!

personally, i think it means not taking any precautions or using any form of birth control, and then getting an abortion when (as does often happen with no birth control) you get pregnant.

IMO it is having an abortion because you accidentally got pregnant. It doesn't matter if it's once or 5 times.
Some may say it's when you accidentally get pregnant only when you're not using birth control. For example, a woman who has sex without any form of birth control and figures if she gets pregnant it's no big deal because she can always have an abortion.

ITA - However, if you ARE using Birth Control, the chances of your 'accidentially' getting pregnant are NOT that high that you would need MULTIPLE abortions ........

IMO is #2. I heard stories of people in BCP or that used other form protection and got pregnant.

this could never be put to law. Who wouldn't say, the condom broke - there's no way to prove it.

Agreed....
and the statistics show that these are the vast, vast majority of abortions performed.

What statistics show this...the ones by the Guttmacher Institute that were posted in the other thread?

Re: Another Pro-life/choice Spin-off (sorry)
To answer the OP...I would say #2 where a person knowingly takes the risk of getting pregnant - knowing full well this is unwanted - but has no care and believes that they can just get an abortion.
Personally, while I am not naive enough to think that this doesn't happen (unfortuantely) I have a very hard time believing that most people could or would do this and have yet to see any proof that this is the case.
