when you're home alone and cleaning up after your dc's meal.....?
when you're home alone and cleaning up after your dc's meal where is your dc and what are they doing?
i usually just give my ds (1 yr. old) a toy and let him walk around the dining room and kitchen. i'm just wondering what everyone else does.

We usually clean-up while they are having dessert or sometimes we have them draw or color.I like to keep them in their chairs for a bit after they have eaten so that they don't go running around like 2 crazies and make themselves sick.

DD is usually still in her highchair. When she's done eating, I wipe her hands/face down with a wet papertowel and I wipe down the tray. For breakfast, when she's done, she gets to watch Elmo while we wait for my stepdaughter to finish getting ready for school (she is always late  ). For dinner, I will take her out and let her walk around the dining room while we finish eating, if we are not done already.

I try to keep him in his high chair otherwise I give him something to play with and he will usually follow me around or go on a mission and wreak havoc in my house so if DS isn't contained  I usually wait until later to clean up when he is in bed.

Once he's done with a meal he wants out of the highchair.
I put him in the living room w/ his toys and clean up. It doesn't take me long.
After dinner I usually wait till he is sleeping (about an hour later) to clean everything.

If it's going to take more than a couple of minutes, I put him in his PNP. He does not like staying in his highchair too long if he does not eat.
Otherwise I keep him quickly in his highchair with the TV.
