SAHM & no family near-by WDYD???
We have no family here & I am the primary watcher of my DD.
I have 2 upcoming interviews , but that means my DH has to leave work early .
I don't know anyone to leave her with & everyone DH knows he works with.
So I got to thinking, what do other people do when you have to go somewhere w/out DC?

You are going to have to start looking for people to watch DD. Even if you start out now (which is easy because she's a newborn and won't know the difference) Start being friendly with your neighbors and see if maybe they can.

we rent, and I don't see really anyone. The one person I did, moved.
At least if I get a job, she will be in day care during the week, I can make friends at work, and then we will be in a house too.

For a while we lived out of state with no family around and honestly we just didn't go out without her. She was pretty small then so we may have left her as she got older but it never got to that point.

Call a local daycare centre and see if they take kids ad hoc. Do you have any friends at all with children?

We didn't go out for a really long time. finally we hired a couple of sitters we found on sittercity.com. So far that's worked out really well.
luckily if we want to go somewhere at night, MANY women at DH job have offered to watch her. it's during the day that I am stuck.
So using an online search has gone well.
How did you use it, interview, decide who to use?

Where in NC are you. I have two close friends that live in the Charlotte area. ?They are both moms. I have know them both for 20 years. I'm sure they would help you out for a few hours.

I would ask here aren't there several people in that area on the boards here?
Also if you have people at your DH's job who have offered to work I would ask them if they know someone they are comfortable with who might be able to watch your child during the day.

Have you checked with your church down there? Do they offer any type of child care services or maybe they can recommend someone from the parish to you?
