Oil prices/Heat USA

I just got billed from General Utilities for a service contract, but I'm a member of Heat Usa and they're supposed to have a free service contract, check their website Heatusa.com. But General utilities all of a sudden is charging their customers for a contract. I have been a customer of theirs for over 10 years! This is bogus. I've called Heat and Gen.Util. and complained General says that this is something new they're starting this year. Has anyone had similar problems? I paid for delivery for 189 gallons at $771!

Re: Oil prices/Heat USA

I despise General, their policies and customer service are horrendous, we had them through Heat USA as well and wound up dumping them and going with SLomins

I always found General to be expensive..I just paid 3.70 per gallon and it would of been less had I gotten more than just 100 gallons..

I use general, and i just got the letter for the contract renewal, I want to switch but not sure who to go with. Been with general for over 5 years. I wanted to switch to gas but keyspan said i am 375ft away from the gas pipe and would cost me $19000. Is anyone doing lockin's these days anymore?

Re: Oil prices/Heat USA

I dumped Petro last summer (when I could have locked in at $3.17) to go with General through HEAT USA Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon My father talked me into it and it was the BIGGEST mistake. I wound up paying paying $3.40/gal with deliveries totalling over $1,100. I thought HEAT USA was supposed to come in at $.20 under market price and it doesnt seem like that is the case. I am dumping them VERY SOON but dont know who to go with either.

ETA: You might want to move this to the home board. You might get more responses.

I go thru Heat USA too - but I'm upstate. My dad convinced me to go with them too - but this was before all the gas prices were going up, up, up. Now I wish I had locked in a rate last summer when I had the chance with another company. ugh. I can't wait for the next oil delivery...

Re: Oil prices/Heat USA

DH is a teacher and we were suppose to have a "deal" with Heat USA on top of the regular deal...

I contacted them several times and they never got back to me..

I finally spoke to someone after waiting for months!!! I told them that I didnt want to use General b/c I had had them before and had nothing but problems with them and found them expensive...the women was suppose to call me back and tell what other company I could use...all my phone calls went unanswered and she never contacted meChat Icon

I kind of got the feeling that General was the company that they used in my area and if I wasnt going with them then I could go scratch..

How can they be competitive if they only use one company????
